Its plans are based and data transfer the lowest one is 10G/month for 4.5USD a month. As the data limit policy will fence off those Torrent and downloading lovers, it is a good choice for business and video lovers because their servers are less congested.

As a mac/windows/android user and I must admit that the vpn works pretty well.
Currently I am in Mainland China and the conection seldom stops. Besides, the speed of the connections are rather fast reaching at least 3mb (sorry, my connection is only 3mb so I can’t test more!)
This VPN has its own Windows software that automaticaly connects you to the fastest connection. The software is both easy to use and configure: you have to type your username and password and then it does everything automaticaly.
Android works pretty well with Samsung Galaxy SIII but I had some problems with mainland-bought phones. They strangely don’t support Cisco IPSec.
To configure every device you have a webpage with all the information that you have to type and with pictures that shows you how to do it.
In Mainland China you can buy this VPN through Taobao which is quite convenient if you have a bank account in China. Besides the price got down last month. Now it’s 39 yuan for the 60gb plan.
They send you an email to do the payment so you don’t have to bother too much to renew the plan.
About the support they are (in fact the guy who answer my questions sings with the same name) amazing: they answer ASAP and with an adequate answer!
The location of the servers vary with the protocol you are going to connect (PPTP, L2TP or CiscoIPSec). They have 2 main locations: Japan and USA and a secondary (which is the location that I use the most, specially to watch cantonese soap operas): Hong Kong.
Said so, this VPN has 2 weak points:
-It does not work very good in Mac (10.7) with the system configuration or freeVPN: it asks to authentificate and when you type the user and password suddenly stops and you have to restart the connection all over again. Said this, it works amazingly well with Shadowshoks (in Mac)
-The plan has a data limit and a p2p limitation (they don’t allow you to use p2p connections). For some people that 2 points could be quite important. For me, that I use the connection for work and personal things, these limitations are not important.

I have been in China for the past 6 months. And I have tried other VPN providers including StrongVPN and HideMyAss. When China started cracking down on OpenVPN, Breakwall was the only VPN provider that was active in resolving the issues and providing alternatives to restore access for us. They may be small but they are proactive on reaching out to their users. Unlike larger VPN providers who require a support ticket and days of waiting, Breakwall emails me when there are problems and responds quickly. I dont know how they are outside of China, but I can say that if you are an expat living in China, Breakwall is the service you need.

I appreciate having a wide choice of server locations. However, each server never seems to last more than twenty minutes before it times out. This can be quite frustrating and inconvenient as I constantly have to reconnect or choose another connection.

I have found breakwall VPN works great all the time, i have found it very useful for those sites like facebook youtube etc, it does whats its suppose to do, and the many different servers helps alot, and gives you many more choices, as your not restrcicted to any single server, overall I am happy so far with the given results of this VPN breakwall, but most of all they give great customer support and are very prompt in resolving any issues.

While most users are trying to access information outside of the great wall, I am moving in the opposite direction to get info from inside the great wall.
I setup BreakWall VPN to access websites inside of China, mainly for watching streaming TV stations. One of my family member enjoys watching streaming TV programmes/video from China but realised that it was impossible due to the throttled speed – it keeps “buffering” and stopping. We suspected that either our Singapore ISP (Internet Service Provider) is deliberately throttling the traffic to external overseas sites or that some China media servers streams more slowly to other countries. Regardless of the reason, by connecting to a VPN via Hong Kong, the problem is solved, and streaming TV/videos is fast enough for watching in real-time.
I am impressed with the speed compared to 2 other VPN providers that I have tested in the past. From my measurements, I could get up to around 6Mbps to Hong Kong speedtest.net and around 1.5Mbps to the China websites (e.g. JSTV.com). My ISP claims up to 100Mbps but we all know that it is not true except for inside Singapore. The true speed to overseas is usually up to 10Mbps at best. The 1.5Mbps observed is the streaming speed of the media server that is lower than what the VPN could support (up to around 6Mbps). Other VPN providers I tested in the past sometimes drops below 1Mbps. (probably due to over-subscription – too many users). With those slow speeds, it would be useful for web browsing only and not possible to stream videos. I hope that BreakWall can maintain the excellent performance.
The pricing is reasonable and billing is very fair. We can upgrade or downgrade anytime and the calculation is pro-rated. Allowing up to 3 simultaneous connections instead of just 1 or 2 connections, I could test the VPN on my Android phone and it worked smoothly for several protocols – L2TP, OpenVPN, Cisco IPsec. The people behind this VPN service are knowledgeable and supports most of the VPN technologies out there. It should work on any device from PC, to Android phone to iPads.
I would be happy if there could be some China servers so that I could have an IP address inside of China. This would allow access to YouKu, TuDou, etc that currently bans external IPs including Hong Kong IPs.
Overall, BreakWall is highly recommended for its high performance (not overloaded so far and I hope it will remain so in future), reasonable pricing and fair billing.

I use BreakWall VPN in addition two to other VPNs and exclusively on my iOS devices as it offers IPSec and the connection time is pretty much to be neglected.
For the price and what it offers (including some great, direct customer support and service) I’d say it surely is one of the better VPN providers out there and surely a lot better than the big commercial ones you find on a 5 second Google query.

There are a number of global servers that you can choose, which apparently will allow you to watch Netflix from outside the US if you choose a US-based server. I´ve had Break Wall for about 2 months now, and having had other VPN providers previously, this is one, is by far the best, under all aspects.
Several servers, which should one result being a bit slow, you can quickly switch to a fast one.
The price is excellent and the support also, where they reply immediately and will fix any problem or query you might have. It is run much more efficiently than bigger VPN providers who theoretically should be better than them, but are clearly not.
For those that are in China, they are added value bonus.

BreakWall is a great VPN provider when you are in China. I tried a VPN provider from Japan, but it’s difficult to use some times. With Breakwall, you can use internet just like you are in Hongkong or Japan or Los Angles when you actually are in China. One suggestion: Breakwall should set up a server in China, so I can get movie or music from Sohu and Youku when I am outside of China.

I live in Chongqing, China. I’m very glad to have BreakWall as VPN Service provider. There are so many servers available and they work in great stability. The speed of visiting foreign webpages is fine, even at busiest times. But it’s not very smooth watching YouTube videos, It’s intermittent. Luckily this can be compensated by the online YouTube downloading sites, which I can use to download YouTube videos. I hope it can improve in future.

I originally decided to try their service for a month because their price was really attractive. My experience for the first week or so was as follows, I could never get PPTP to work. L2TP would connect but would never allow my browser to connect to any website, it would just sit there and spin. I worked with their tech support, trying the various servers, trying their client and the various connection methods. It would work sometimes and then would not work again. Like a new connection method would work the first time and would fail every other time I would try to use it after. After trying everything the tech on their end told me that it must be my connection to the internet. So I gave and went back to strongvpn which has never had issues connecting or required an installation of their own client so I am back to strongvpn. Really wanted this to work just don’t know why it did not.

I found Break wall VPN service on Google the morning I landed in China. I had never used or even heard of a VPN or what it was used for (not really a tech head!) I thought Breakwall was a big company supplying the service until I had to email tech support for a little help to get things up and running. To my surprise it was just a couple of guys which was great for me. 15 years using the net and have never ever received such good customer service. One of the guys even called me on my hotel phone to help me through it and even emailed twice to see if everything was ok. I’m a sysadmin with 20 years of experience and I’ve tried many of the vpn services offered for China. Well, I have to say that these guys really did a great job!
Their network it’s stable, reliable and much much easy to use than some big name.
I watch movies on Netflix almost every evening from my China Telecom terrible ADSL and, even if sometimes I need to spend few minutes to find an IP not yet filtered, I mostly can do anything I want without problems.
As well as the office use. Some day I realize only when it’s time to leave the office that I’ve forgot the vpn open and I did work the whole day without drop a single bit.
And, most of all, I did set up in less than half minute on my Galaxy Nexus under China Unicom WCDMA and I can access everything from mobile as well, very very easily.
I’ve gave one less star on the price, because I think that on a long term it’s expensive as service (I’ve chosen the 30GB/mo option) but till now it’s worthy.

I’ve been using BreakWall for about a week now while I’ve been traveling through China. So far so good now.
However, one big missing feature of the Android client software is that you can only import one single VPN server config file at a time which is very troublesome if you want to have many tunnels.
So hope it can be like PC client OpenVPN whereby one big config file including all the tunnels(different server IPs+port+UDP/TCP).

If you are in China this VPN is a no-brainer. It is run by people inside China which means you don’t have to worry about getting stuck behind the great firewall! I had ten or so questions that were answered all within a matter of minutes and were answered with knowledge and honesty. I started looking for a new VPN provider when my credit card expired on my old subscription.
After searching the internet and the different user forums, I chanced upon BW. At first I was hesitant to use them since they seemed quite a small operation and was worried on their reliability.

I frequently visited China and accessing Facebook, Twitter & Youtube is a PITA! But you have to give their government credit for implement world’s most efficient GFW (they recently blocked PPTP/L2TP/Cisco Ipsec). The only thing that still work for a certainty on a smartphone is OpenVPN, which doesn’t come native on either Android or iOS. Many VPN carrier aren’t Chinese market oriented so expect zero support on setting up OpenVPN on mobile devices. I have used various VPN carrier in the past (StrongVPN, PureVPN, ibVPN, Witopia and BreakWall), and can vouch for Breakwall! Fan Yi @ BreakWall is the guy who will take the extra mile to get you (expats in China) up and going in a timely manner. In addition, their price is very reasonable for anyone who doesn’t plan on doing p2p on VPN. But why you want to do that?

This service is the best fit for me. I live in China and had lots of problems with other VPN providers in the past. Larger is not necessarily better. After almost 2 months with BreakWall, no problems whatsoever. Every single question I had was answered promptly. Setup instructions on their website are clear, easy tools are provided to facilitate installation and use. Bandwidth restrictions don’t bother me as my online activities don’t involve excessive use of video streaming. I am more interested in reliability and here BreakWall delivers.

I’ve been using Breakwall for over 6 weeks, first testing the basic for a month and upgraded from basic to the next plan within a month for a years supply as the new online life they’ve given me means I need more bandwidth (blogspots are back).
They have been since the beginning a service (hope they remain that way), always quickly helping out if any problem, making connection apps to make life easier for non-tecchy people (just click and go type apps) etc.
The real beauty about their service is that they want the access they give us and so if you’re down, they are too. The best incentive I feel to make sure you’re always online. In other words, they’ll fix their own connection problems double quick meaning they fix your problem at the same time.
There are other providers that are cheaper and do not restrict bandwidth (upload/download) but the others have other restrictions I do not like. BWVPN allows you to connect to multiple servers as often as you like from multiple points at the same time with one account. So leave it on working away at home, while at work you can also connect to do something else.
Speed depends on too many things to say it is good, it is bad. Where you are connecting to, how busy their server is etc. Generally the speeds are good enough to get you where you want to be. Personally, I get what I want (eg a dload link), switch off and then dload what I need at normal high speeds. Then switch back on for the next.

A cost-effective solution to bypass GFW in PRC compared to offerings by other vendors.
I can access virtually every website I want to visit via various terminals such as Ipad2,PC and Android HTC phone.
Post-sale service/tech-support is prompt and awesome as well!

..fast, efficient, effective with mutiple server choice And cheap. Its savvy not klutz And it works plus get the feeling its a service more than a grab me. Also, playing kano apps(fb apps), american servers are busy, too busy at times and can crash ; offshore servers bypass this problem.
