Our ratings come from user experiences, not staff testing. A high rating describes the feedback available here; it does not certify a service’s security or suitability for you.
What counts toward a rating?
A qualifying review must be published, associated with a published provider listing, and have a whole-number score from 1 to 5. Moderation can exclude policy violations. Imported source records are checked for valid association and approval.
Provider replies, threaded comment replies, exact duplicate records, invalid scores and invalid associations are excluded from the displayed average. We retain the original historical records rather than rewriting them. A response attached by a moderator is labeled as a provider response and never adds a user score.
The calculation
The displayed rating is the arithmetic mean of qualifying scores, rounded to one decimal place. We show the number of reviews and the star distribution so readers can judge the evidence. A provider without qualifying reviews displays “No user reviews yet”—not zero stars.
Top rated by users
The homepage includes current sourced listings with at least five qualifying reviews. Listings are ordered by their displayed user average, then by review count, then alphabetically. This minimum is an eligibility rule, not a claim of statistical certainty. Directory filters let you choose a larger minimum review count.
Read dates, not just stars
Historical reviews use their recoverable original dates and are labeled as historical. They may reflect a different product or policy. Undated imported feedback is identified as historical with its original date unavailable. New submissions remain pending until moderation; publication is not proof of a verified subscription.
Commercial independence
Organic ranking does not use payment or featured-placement pins. Promotions are visibly separate. Advertising does not entitle a provider to remove negative experiences. Readers can report a review for a specific policy concern.
