A low “per month” headline may describe the equivalent cost of a subscription billed for a year or longer. That is not necessarily a monthly payment option. Compare the total charged today and the period it covers before comparing two offers.
Write down the actual commitment
Find the currency, billing interval, upfront amount and whether the introductory offer applies only to a new account. Check whether taxes or optional add-ons appear at checkout. If a plan advertises bonus months, determine when the renewal happens and what term follows. Do not assume that a search result or old user review still describes the current offer.
Renewal can be a different price
Look for the stated renewal cost and the cancellation process. Save a copy of the terms you accept. A subscription that automatically renews may need cancellation before a specified deadline. Turning off an app or uninstalling it is not necessarily cancellation of a billing agreement.
Refund and trial are different ideas
A refund policy may impose eligibility rules, deadlines or exclusions. A free trial may require payment details and become a paid subscription. Purchases through app stores can follow different processes from purchases directly through a provider. Identify who charged you and use the applicable terms.
Compare the plan you actually need
- Are the simultaneous device allowance and platform support suitable?
- Does the quoted tier include the VPN features you want?
- Is a dedicated IP or another feature sold separately?
- What happens when the introductory term ends?
- Can you find clear cancellation and refund instructions?
Do not substitute a rating for terms
A positive user review may describe a different plan or a much older refund policy. Read billing experiences for useful questions to ask, then check current official documentation. A high user average is not a guarantee that a refund request will succeed.
