I should admit up front that this is the only private VPN service I’ve had, so I can’t really compare to others. But I can say that (a) Witopia does what it says it should do, very well, and (b) It’s excellent value for the money. There are numerous locations to connect, both in the United States and out. There is support for OpenVPN, IPsec, L2TP, and PPTP protocols. There are several different cryptographic standards available. If you’re having trouble installing or updating the service, you can get support by online chat or voice (online chat is the easiest and fastest) right away. Connections are dropped very rarely.

Of course, using Witopia does slow down my use of uTorrent, so I disable it when I’m operating that application. If I were really concerned about anonymity when using that application, however, I’d put up with the speed loss and feel secure that I was hidden and untraceable.

In short, I’m a very satisfied customer.
