About VPN.ac
VPN.ac is a paid device VPN with native applications and support for third-party clients. Its current footer names Cryptolayer, formerly Netsec Interactive Solutions, while the About page still identifies the earlier company in Romania. This inconsistency is worth retaining rather than silently replacing the published corporate history. The official site lists Windows, macOS, Android and iOS apps and describes a Linux application as beta.
The subscription includes WireGuard and OpenVPN/IPsec connectivity, obfuscation options and a SecureProxy browser add-on. SecureProxy is a separate browser-focused component, not the whole VPN service. The connection allowance is explicitly divided: six connections using OpenVPN/IPsec plus six using WireGuard, rather than twelve interchangeable WireGuard sessions. The website advertises unlimited transfer speeds and no activity logs.
The privacy policy is more specific about connection metadata: IP addresses, session start and end times and transferred data are collected for operation, troubleshooting and security, and reportedly erased when the session terminates. That differs from claiming no data is ever collected. Published plans cost US$9 for one month, US$24 for three months, US$58 for one year or US$90 for two years. A one-week US$2 trial and seven-day refund policy are also described. The homepage FAQ limits the trial to three simultaneous connections, separate from the regular subscription allowance. No independent performance testing or completed VPN-specific audit assessment was conducted for this listing.
