Occupy Wall Street use VPN to beat surveillance
You have probably seen them on tv lately protesting in major US cityies, camped out in financial centers and confronting the police. But what you might not have thought off is that these guys need internet to function. Without constant Wifi they can’t organise through social media sites. Free Wifi has been setup at most camps but these it seems have been open to surveillience by law enforcement and nosey neighbours. Now the Free Network Foundation (FNF) is trying raise money through IndieGoGo funding platform to build a dedicated secured network for protestors worldwide. You can read on this at Fastcompany.com
I hope they get the funding they need. Online Privacy should be a right, not a privilege.
